Join the MercyOne family! We are hiring a Medical Assistant at our MercyOne Cancer Center.
As a Medical Assistant/Clinic Nurse (LPN), you will support medical activities by performing various clinical and clerical tasks to ensure quality care and efficiency.
- Escort patients to exam rooms, document data including chief complaint, allergies, vital signs, pain level, medication history, and fall risk. Assist with exams and procedures as requested.
- Follow policies and universal precautions when performing lab tests or procedures. Report critical results and maintain quality controls.
- Assist with scheduling and patient education, review test preparation instructions.
- Complete charge tickets, submit charges, and obtain diagnosis from providers. Obtain ABN as necessary.
- Administer medications following safety protocols, document administration, and maintain competency across routes.
- Notify and follow-up on phone messages under provider supervision.
- Part Time - 32 hours/week
- Monday to Friday, days 8a-4:30p or 8:30a-5p
- At least six months of healthcare experience preferred.
- Computer skills are required.
- Graduate of an approved medical assistant school. Credentialed as CMA, RMA, or NCMA required.
- For LPN: Graduate of a nursing program, current Iowa License, and possibly Minnesota license depending on location.
