Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health System is seeking a qualified Medical Assistant for the Fayetteville clinic. You will support physicians in administering care, taking vital signs, and updating patient charts.

You will perform front-desk duties, assist with procedure setup and post-care documentation, and coordinate with home health and other partners to ensure patient plans are followed. The role requires BLS and MA certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program with national certification.
• Minimum 1 year clinical outpatient experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and licensed staff with clinical tasks and patient care.
• Perform and document patient vital signs, treatments, medications, and therapies as directed.
• Front desk support: greet patients, schedule appointments, and assist with ICD/CPT coding for billing.
• Coordinate with home health, hospice, DME, and other partners to implement care plans.
• Monitor In Basket messages in Epic and respond promptly.
• Maintain infection prevention standards and a clean patient care environment.
