Overview

Under supervision and/or direction of the physician or nurse, performs various duties to assist with patient treatment and care according to established standards.

Responsibilities
  • Perform Point of Care Testing and quality control.
  • Perform EKGs as necessary.
  • Ensure positive patient identification and utilize systems such as the current health information system, DI, DHIN, Gold, Provider Portal, and insurance verification sites, following practice protocols.
  • Complete office support tasks accurately within required timeframes.
  • Manage messages timely using EMR inboxes.
  • Operate all office equipment properly.
  • Maintain a clean and stocked patient care area.
  • Assist nurses and technicians with patient preparation for examinations, treatments, and procedures.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrate initiative and collaborate with staff to provide assistance.
  • Complete duties positively and productively.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities.
  • Follow biohazard safety protocols, including specimen handling and PPE use in accordance with OSHA standards.
  • Handle specimens correctly, label them properly, and transfer to lab.
  • Perform all duties using appropriate PPE and safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Two years of medical/clinical experience as a Medical Assistant or graduation from a Medical Assistant Program.

Credentials & Compensation

Education: Entry level - USD $18.25/hr; Max: USD $28.29/hr.
