Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Arizona is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide direct and indirect patient care in an ambulatory setting under the supervision of a physician. You will participate as a health care team member and follow the patient care plan and clinic policies.

Responsibilities include completing designated tasks, coordinating with RNs and providers, and ensuring BLS competency. Excellent communication and EMR proficiency are required, with daytime hours and possible scheduling flexibility.

Qualifications

• Arizona: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Graduate from a Medical Assistant diploma or associate degree program.
• Active CMA, or registration (RMA) or CCMA certification is required.
• Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
• Graduate from a Medical Assistant diploma or associate degree program or hold an active CMA/RMA/CCMA certification.
• Active CMA/RMA/CCMA certification is preferred.
• Maintains current BLS for Health Care Providers from recognized programs.
• Positions not on campus may not require current BLS competency as determined by the work area.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Computer proficiency including experience with electronic medical record systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care in ambulatory settings under physician supervision.
• Collaborate with health care team and accept appropriate delegation from RN or physician.
• Carry out activities within the patient care plan, policies and procedures of the organization.
• Perform tasks within scope of practice and laws governing unlicensed health care personnel.
