Job summary

Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Medical Assistant for the ambulatory practice. The MA works under physician supervision, administers meds and vaccines, obtains vitals, and supports efficient patient flow.

Requires HS diploma or GED; MA program preferred. Certification (CMA/RMA/NCMA, etc.) expected within 3 months of hire; CPR required on hire and recertified every two years. Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required; MA program preferred.
• No experience required; 1–2 years in ambulatory care preferred.
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred; may require language assessment.
• MA certification required within 3 months of employment.
• Current MA certification must be maintained; CPR required on hire and recertified every 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and immunizations as directed.
• Obtains vital signs and maintains patient flow.
• Maintains supplies inventory and organizes the practice environment.
• Tracks high-risk referrals and lab tests; facilitates safe transitions of care.
• Contributes to HEDIS and designated quality measures.
