Job summary

Sentara Healthcare Inc. is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant in Suffolk, VA for a 40-hour, Monday–Friday schedule. This role includes patient care and administrative duties, with the potential for a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 and mileage reimbursement for travel as needed.

Certification is required at hire; BLS within 90 days is expected. Phlebotomy experience is highly preferred, and the position involves working closely with physicians and nurses in a fast-paced cardiology setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), CCMA or EMT-B certification required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care and administrative/clerical tasks under supervision.
• Maintains safety and follows department policies and procedures.
• Supports physicians, NP/PA, RN or LPN in daily operations.
