Job summary

Riverview Health in Carmel, IN is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support patient care in a busy physician practice. You will prepare patients, administer injections, perform EKGs and lab testing, and help with clinical documentation.

The role involves coordinating tests, scheduling procedures, and assisting the physician to ensure comprehensive patient care. A HS diploma and MA training are required; BLS is required, with preferred 1+ year experience in a medical office.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant required and BLS certification.
• High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of a Medical Assistant course.
• Preferred: 1+ year in a physician office setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and administer injections and immunizations.
• Perform laboratory testing, EKGs and other office procedures.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate tests while supporting front and clinical areas.
• Assist physician with documentation and maintain accurate records.
• Arrange diagnostic testing, specialist appointments and hospital admissions.
• May perform phlebotomy and venipuncture as needed.
• Maintain waiting and examination rooms and manage supplies.
• Support team decisions and participate in performance improvement activities.
• Train other Medical Assistants and communicate changes in workload.
