Job summary

Duly Health and Care in Wheaton, IL is seeking a Medical Assistant for Internal Medicine. This full-time role supports physicians, takes vital signs, assists during examinations, and helps with immunizations and patient check-in.

Onsite lab work including EKG and PFT may be performed, with chart updates and patient education. CPR certification is required, and phlebotomy may be needed within 90 days of hire. Some local travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Medical Assistant educational program or higher education courses in health sciences or related experience required.
• Active medical assistant certification may be required (AMT/NCCT/NHA/ARMA/AAMA).
• CPR certification required or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Phlebotomy certification may be required within 90 days of hire.
• Prior MA/CMA/CNA/EMT or 2 years in a medical office assisting with patient care.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and assist with registration, scheduling, vital signs, and health history.
• Support physicians during examinations, minor surgeries, dressing changes, and first aid.
• May assist with immunizations or injections.
• Process prescriptions, pharmacy callbacks, provider orders, and chart updates.
• Conduct onsite lab testing including EKG, PFT, glucose, and urine pregnancy tests.
• Maintain clean, welcoming examination rooms.
• Provide excellent customer service aligned with Duly Health and Care values.
• Some travel to assist other local clinics may be required.

• Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm; Hours will vary.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet patients and assist with registration, scheduling, measuring vital signs and collecting health history
• Provide support to physicians during examinations, minor office surgeries, dressing changes and other first aid procedures
• Certified medical assistants may assist with immunizations or injections
• Assist patients with prescription requests, address pharmacy callbacks, provider orders, update charting and filing
• Conduct onsite lab testing to include: EKG, pulmonary function, blood glucose and urine pregnancy tests
• Maintains clean, warm and inviting examination rooms for patient visits

• Some travel to assist other local clinics may be required.

Key Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Completion of Medical Assistant educational program or higher education courses in health sciences or related experience required
• Several of our clinical specialties including Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Family Practice, require active medical assistant certification through one of the following:
  • American Medical Technologists (AMT)
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
  • National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
  • American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
  • American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
• CPR certification or willing to become certified upon hire required
• May require phlebotomy certification to be completed within 90 days of hire
• Prior experience working as an MA, CMA, CNA, EMT or 2 years of prior experience working in a medical office assisting with patient care

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $21.43-23.63 for a Medical Assistant; Certified or Registered Medical Assistant the base pay range is $22.97-24.57, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
