Whitman-Walker in Washington, DC, seeks a Medical Assistant to provide direct clinical care under supervision. Responsibilities include drawing blood, administering injections, and taking vital signs. Applicants must have a graduation from an approved medical assistant program, certification, and CPR.
The ideal candidate will assist in patient education and preparation for exams and procedures. Preference will be given to those with experience in medical offices or HIV/AIDS and working with diverse populations.
Provides direct clinical care under the supervision of a Licensed Practical Nurse or other clinicians. Draws blood, gives injections, takes vital signs, and completes documentation of activities in the medical chart. Provides general assistance throughout the patient visit and during any applicable procedures.
