Job summary

Camden Center is seeking a Medical Coordinator to provide clinical and technical support in delivering general medical and psychiatric care to patients. You will report to the Co-Medical Director and coordinate with clinical teams to ensure smooth patient flow.

The role requires a Certified Medical Assistant or CMA-equivalent with at least one year of medical office experience, strong HIPAA knowledge, and meticulous record keeping.

Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant with AD in Applied Science or AAMA certification required.
  • At least 1 year of medical office experience.
  • Knowledge of aseptic technique for procedures.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and privacy guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule outside medical orders and referrals.
  • Collect blood and urine samples for patient care.
  • Coordinate medication supply and refills with teams.
  • Conduct wellness intakes and collect vitals (height, weight).
  • Collaborate with Medical Logistics coordinator on protocols.
  • Assist with urine drug screens and lab orders.
  • Collect medical and medication history for new patients.
  • Support charting, emailing and data collection.
  • Obtain release of information for records as needed.
  • Maintain professionalism in all communications.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Camden Center is a partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient treatment center that offers comprehensive, multi-disciplinary treatment for psychiatric and addictive disorders. Our staff is comprised of nationally recognized medical doctors, psychotherapists, and integrative medicine specialists who have been recruited as experts in their field to work with our patients. ABOUT THE POSITION

The medical coordinator is responsible for providing clinical and technical support in the provision of general medical and psychiatric care to patients. This position reports directly to the Co-Medical Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Core duties and responsibilities include:

  • Scheduling outside medical orders and referrals
  • Collecting blood and urine samples for patient’s medical care
  • Coordinating medication supply and refills with case management and residential teams
  • Conducting wellness intakes and checks for patients. Consists of obtaining the patient's height, weight, etc.
  • Collaborating with the Medical Logistics coordinator and practitioners on protocols and patient care
  • Assisting with urine drug screening and medical lab orders
  • Collecting medical and medication history for new patients
  • Providing support with charting, emailing, and data collection
  • Obtaining release of information from appropriate providers, individuals, and facilities to obtain medical records and other relevant information
  • Using tact, discretion, and good judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain high-quality attention to detail
  • Demonstrate high levels of professionalism when communicating in person, by email, or by phone
  • Willingness to receive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) training
  • Other duties as assigned by the direct or indirect supervisor
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Certified Medical Assistant with AD in Applied Science. AAMA certification required.
  • Will accept applicants with a current Medical Assistant Certificate
  • At least one-year medical office experience required
  • Knowledge and ability to practice aseptic technique when assisting with procedures
  • Ability to triage medical/psychiatric problems within scope of job responsibilities
  • Ability to take direction from physicians, managers, and providers, and work collaboratively with all levels of management, staff, patients, and vendors
  • Interpersonal skills to work with patients and staff of diverse educational, economic, and cultural backgrounds
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Thorough understanding of HIPAAs regulations, requirements, and guidelines
