Job summary

Novant Health Rock Hill Family Medicine is seeking a Full-Time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join a compassionate, patient-focused team in Rock Hill, SC. The CMA will support providers, prepare exam rooms, document vital signs in the EMR, and administer medications within scope of practice.

Candidates must have a High School diploma or GED and obtain CMA certification within six months of hire. Prior medical office experience is preferred.

As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will coordinate and assist providers in delivering safe, high-quality, and cost-effective care to patients within our practice. You will play an essential role in ensuring efficient clinic operations while creating a welcoming and positive experience for every patient.

What You'll Do

• Assist providers with patient examinations and procedures.


• Room patients, obtain vital signs, and accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record.


• Administer medications and immunizations within scope of practice

What We're Looking For

Education: High School or GED, required. Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including:

• CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)


• CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA)


• RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT)


• American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA)


• National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)


• National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)


• American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). I

If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an certification agreement.

Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred.

Licensure/Certification:

Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required

Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required

Additional Skills/Requirements (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
