Job summary

Master Center for Addiction Medicine in Richmond, VA is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our outpatient treatment team. You will support physicians, verify histories, review medications, and assist with vital signs and labs, collaborating with recovery coaches to coordinate care.

Two years of MA experience is preferred, CMA certification or CNA with medical office experience is acceptable. CPR/First Aid is preferred.

Qualifications

  • CMA/CNA with patient-facing and medical office experience or CMA certification
  • CPR/First Aid Certification preferred
  • Experience with bloodwork and injections
  • Experience providing direct patient care
  • Two years' experience as a Medical Assistant highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist medical providers with patient histories and medication verification
  • Check and document patient vital signs
  • Communicate with medical providers
  • Coordinate lab and bloodwork requests with recovery coaches
  • Collect, document and report Urinary Drug Screens and ETOH breathalyzer results
  • Document patient PHI in the EMR
  • Assist in checking in/out patients as they move through encounters
  • Other duties as assigned

Job description

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team of professionals at Master Center for Addiction Medicine who are providing outpatient treatment to persons with substance use disorders as part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary treatment team. We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for the Richmond area.

Master Center for Addiction Medicine is a private, outpatient addiction medicine treatment center based in Richmond, Virginia. Our approach to addiction is comprehensive, evidence-based and individualized drawing on every tool that has been proven effective: medical treatment, education, psychiatry, professional counseling, testing/monitoring and peer support services. Position Qualifications:
  • CNA with patient facing and medical office experienceORCertified Medical Assistant Certification

Position Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assisting medical provider team in taking patient histories and verifying medications and ROS
  • Checking and documentation of patient vital signs
  • Communicating with medical providers
  • Working with recovery coaches and external labs to facilitate lab and bloodwork requests from providers
  • Working with recovery coaches to collect, document, and report Urinary Drug Screen and ETOH breathalyzer/mouth swabs
  • Assisting the coaches as needed in documenting patient PHI into electronic medical record
  • Assisting in checking in/out patients as they move through the office encounter
  • Other duties as assigned

This position is Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

This position is for the Richmond area.

Salary starting at: $19+ an hour
