Job summary

Master Center for Addiction Medicine is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for the Richmond area to join our outpatient treatment team. The role supports medical providers, performs patient bloodwork, takes histories, and helps coordinate lab work with recovery coaches.

We require CMA or CNA with medical office experience; CPR First Aid preferred. Two years of MA experience is highly preferred, and the position runs Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with a comprehensive benefits package

Qualifications

  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
  • Experience with bloodwork and injections is required.
  • Direct patient care experience is essential for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Assist medical provider team with patient histories, medications, and ROS.
  • Record patient vitals and document accurately in EMR.
  • Perform patient bloodwork and assist with lab requests.
  • Coordinate with recovery coaches and external labs as needed.
  • Document PHI into the EMR and assist in patient check-in/out.

Job description

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team of professionals at Master Center for Addiction Medicine who are providing outpatient treatment to persons with substance use disorders as part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary treatment team. We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for the Richmond area.

Master Center for Addiction Medicine is a private, outpatient addiction medicine treatment center based in Richmond, Virginia. Our approach to addiction is comprehensive, evidence-based and individualized drawing on every tool that has been proven effective: medical treatment, education, psychiatry, professional counseling, testing/monitoring and peer support services. Position Qualifications:
  • CNA with patient facing and medical office experienceORCertified Medical Assistant Certification
  • CPR/First Aid Certification preferred
  • Experience with bloodwork and injections
  • Experience providing direct patient care
  • Two years' experience as a Medical Assistant highly preferred
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assisting medical provider team in taking patient histories and verifying medications and ROS
  • Checking and documentation of patient vital signs
  • Patient bloodwork
  • Communicating with medical providers
  • Working with recovery coaches and external labs to facilitate lab and bloodwork requests from providers
  • Working with recovery coaches to collect, document, and report Urinary Drug Screen and ETOH breathalyzer/mouth swabs
  • Assisting the coaches as needed in documenting patient PHI into electronic medical record
  • Assisting in checking in/out patients as they move through the office encounter
  • Other duties as assigned

This position is Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

This position is for the Richmond area.

Salary starting at: $19+ an hour
