Job summary

Master Center seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to join a collaborative outpatient team in the Richmond area with additional Hampton location. The role involves supporting the medical provider team, performing patient intake and vital signs, bloodwork, and coordinating lab requests within an addiction medicine setting.

The position requires CMA certification or CNA with medical office experience, CPR/First Aid preferred, and at least two years of MA experience.

Qualifications

  • Must have hands-on patient-facing and medical office experience.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
  • Experience with bloodwork and injections.
  • Experience providing direct patient care.
  • Two years of Medical Assistant experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist medical provider team in taking patient histories and verifying medications and ROS.
  • Check and document patient vital signs.
  • Perform patient bloodwork.
  • Communicate with medical providers.
  • Coordinate lab and bloodwork requests with recovery coaches and external labs.
  • Collect, document, and report Urinary Drug Screen and ETOH tests.
  • Document patient PHI into EMR.
  • Check in/out patients as they move through encounters.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team of professionals at Master Center for Addiction Medicine who are providing outpatient treatment to persons with substance use disorders as part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary treatment team. We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for the Richmond area.

Master Center for Addiction Medicine is a private, outpatient addiction medicine treatment center based in Richmond, Virginia, and we haveadditional locations in Gloucester, Virginia and Hampton, Virginia. Our approach to addiction is comprehensive, evidence-based and individualized drawing on every tool that has been proven effective: medical treatment, education, psychiatry, professional counseling, testing/monitoring and peer support services. Position Qualifications:

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting medical provider team in taking patient histories and verifying medications and ROS
  • Checking and documentation of patient vital signs
  • Patient bloodwork
  • Communicating with medical providers
  • Working with recovery coaches and external labs to facilitate lab and bloodwork requests from providers
  • Working with recovery coaches to collect, document, and report Urinary Drug Screen and ETOH breathalyzer/mouth swabs
  • Assisting the coaches as needed in documenting patient PHI into electronic medical record
  • Assisting in checking in/out patients as they move through the office encounter
  • Other duties as assigned

This position is Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

This position is for the Hampton area.

Salary starting at: $19+ an hour
