Job summary

Forefront Dermatology is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our fast-paced team. You’ll accompany the dermatologist in patient rooms, document vitals, and assist with post-op wound care and routine procedures.

Qualifications include a High School diploma and CMA/LPN/RN preferred; experience in medical offices and EMR systems is desired. Travel to other clinic locations may be required. Benefits include health, dental, vision, and 401K.

Qualifications

• Post High School education in a medical support field preferred (CMA/LPN/RN).
• 1+ years in a medical office preferred; strong computer skills with EMR and Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients and documenting vital information.
• Scribing information for the dermatologist.
• Providing post-op wound care to patients.
• Drawing blood and suture removal.
• Cleaning and stocking exam rooms.
• Scheduling patient appointments.
• Assist dermatologist with procedures: biopsies, excisions, Mohs, injections, patch testing, and more.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information


• Scribing information for the dermatologist


• Providing post op wound care to patients


• Drawing blood and suture removal


• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms


• Scheduling patient appointments

Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as:

• Surgical photographs


• Biopsies – punch, DIF and shave


• Excisions


• Electrodessication and curettage


• I&D


• Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery


• Phototherapy


• Injections


• Koh preps


• Trichograms


• Tzank preps


• Dermabrasion


• Patch testing


• Blue light

Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Post High School education in a medical support field:

Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse is strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred


• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment


• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed


• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems


• Must possess organizational and communication skills


• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors


• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
