Job summary

Kako'o Services LLC is seeking a Medical Assistant to support Naval Health Clinic Oak Harbor in Oak Harbor, WA. You will interview patients, record medical history, measure vital signs, and assist physicians during examinations as part of the Audiology, Deployment Health, Women's Health, Primary Care and Pediatrics departments.

This role offers a Monday–Friday schedule, pay of $23.50–$24/hour with a health and wellness stipend, and benefits including paid time off and life insurance.

Qualifications

• Certificate degree required.
• Graduate from a medical assistant training program accredited by CAAHEP/ABHES or a formal military program.
• Current MA certification by NHA, AMT, AAMA, ARMA, NCCT, AMT, AMCA.
• One year of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant in the last two years.

Responsibilities

• Prepare examination rooms prior to patient's arrival.
• Assist with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers as directed.
• Check patient's vital signs, including temperature, respiration, pulse, weight, blood pressure, and pulse oximeter reading.
• Obtain and document patient's current medical history, drug history, chief complaints, allergies and vital signs on the correct form.
• Perform diagnostic procedures when ordered.
• Maintain examination room stock levels and perform routine maintenance of examination rooms.
• Complete lab and x-ray requisitions in accordance with clinic policies.
• Enter demographic data into the computer upon patient check-in; enter diagnosis and departing time when patient is released.

Location: Naval Health Clinic Oak Harbor, WA 98278

Schedule: Monday - Friday, between the hours of 0700 to 1630

Pay: Between $23.50/hr - $24/hr & Health & Wellness $5.09*/hr worked (in lieu of benefits)

Qualifications

• Degree: Certificate.
• Education: Graduate from a medical assistant training program accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) of the American Medical Technologists or a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces.
• Certification: Current certification as a medical assistant by the NHA (National Health career Association), ARMA (American Registry of Medical Assistants), NCCT (National Center for Competency Testing), AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants) , AMT (American Medical Technologists), AMCA (American Medical Certification Association)
• Experience: One year of experience within the last two years as a Certified Medical Assistant.
