Job summary

Oakes Buick GMC in North Kansas City, MO is seeking an experienced KIA Certified Master Technician to join our service team. This full-time role emphasizes advanced diagnostics, high-quality workmanship, and a commitment to customer satisfaction while maintaining manufacturer standards.

The ideal candidate will hold a current Master Technician Certification, be proficient with electrical and engine systems, and contribute to a productive, supportive shop environment at Oakes Auto Group.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a clean or acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass a standard background check.
• Strong reliability and consistent attendance.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new systems.
• Current Manufacturer Master Technician Certification required.
• ASE Certifications preferred.
• Advanced diagnostic, electrical, and engine repair experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs using manufacturer-approved tools, equipment, and procedures
• Diagnose and repair complex electrical, engine, transmission, drivability, steering, suspension, brake, HVAC, and related vehicle systems
• Complete customer-pay, warranty, recall, and maintenance repairs while maintaining manufacturer and dealership quality standards
• Accurately document repair procedures, diagnostic findings, and recommendations while communicating effectively with Service Advisors and leadership
• Support technician development by assisting with advanced diagnostics, sharing technical knowledge, and contributing to an efficient shop environment
