Qualifications

• NCCCO crane operator certification required.
• Hands-on friction lattice crane operating experience required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate friction lattice boom cranes according to safety requirements.
• Read load charts and determine safe lifting capacities.

NCCCO-Certified Friction Lattice Crane OperatorWe are seeking an experienced NCCCO-Certified Friction Lattice Crane Operator for a full-time opportunity in the marine/heavy industrial industry.This is not a standard hydraulic crane operator position. We are specifically looking for an operator with hands-on experience running lattice boom friction cranes with mechanical friction clutches and brakes.The right candidate will have strong mechanical crane experience and the skill, coordination, and judgment required to safely control heavy loads using traditional friction-operated equipment.ResponsibilitiesSafely operate friction lattice boom cranes in accordance with company, OSHA, and site safety requirementsOperate mechanical friction clutches and braking systems to control hoisting operationsPerform precise lifting, positioning, and placement of heavy loadsControl boom, hoist, and cable systems on traditional friction cranesSafely manage load movement, including controlled lowering and freefall functions when applicableInterpret load charts and determine safe lifting capacitiesConduct daily pre-operation inspections of cranes, cables, brakes, clutches, and related equipmentIdentify mechanical or safety concerns before operationCommunicate effectively with riggers, signal personnel, supervisors, and other members of the lifting teamFollow hand signals and radio communication during lifting operationsMaintain safe operating practices in marine, shipyard, construction, and heavy industrial environmentsAssist with basic crane inspection, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance as neededRequirementsCurrent NCCCO crane operator certificationPrevious hands-on friction lattice crane operating experience requiredStrong experience with mechanical clutch and brake-controlled cranesExperience operating lattice boom cranesStrong understanding of rigging, load control, crane capacity, and lift planningAbility to read and interpret load chartsStrong understanding of crane safety procedures and OSHA requirementsAbility to communicate effectively with riggers and signal personnelExcellent hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitudeAbility to safely operate equipment in demanding industrial environmentsDependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working as part of a team
