Job summary

Spurwink in Lewiston is seeking a collaborative Peer Support Specialist with CIPSS certification to engage adults in behavioral health recovery. You will work with a multidisciplinary team, build community connections, travel between Androscoggin and Oxford counties, and support participants in pursuing recovery goals.

This role emphasizes confidentiality, documentation, and the use of motivational interviewing and peer support to foster wellness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Certified CIPSS certification required or preferred; Certified Recovery Coach certification required.
• Peer support work experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of and maintain community relationships/resources.
• Engages program participants through direct contact and support.
• Travel between Androscoggin and Oxford counties to engage program participants in their communities.
• Assist participants in identifying and pursuing their recovery goals.
• Maintain records, EHR, and documentation as required by Spurwink or State Agencies.
• Develops and maintains effective working relationships with participant's Treatment Team.
• Actively uses motivational interviewing, life coaching, WRAP, and peer support to engage participants.
• Complies with agency policies and procedures.
• Respect participant confidentiality.
• Assist clients with wellness needs by encouraging healthy habits.
• Link clients with primary care providers and medical care.
• Create and maintain working relationships with community health providers.

Come join a vibrant, interdisciplinary Adult Behavioral Health Home team serving the complex needs of adults with behavioral health challenges in the Lewiston area. We are looking for a collaborative, engaging, and driven Peer Support Specialist who has their CIPSS certification.

DUTIES

• Assist participants in identifying and pursuing their recovery goals.
• Maintain records, EHR, and documentation as required by Spurwink or State Agencies.
• Develops and maintains effective working relationships with participant's Treatment Team.
• Actively uses relevant aspects of motivational interviewing, life coaching, WRAP, and peer support to engage participants.
• Complies with agency policies and procedures.
• Clearly respects the need for participant confidentiality.
• Assist clients with wellness needs by encouraging healthy habits, i.e., quitting smoking, losing weight, healthy eating, etc.
• Links clients with primary care providers and medical care.
• Creates and maintains working relationships with community health providers.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist (CIPSS) certification and/or Certified Recovery Coach certification required. Peer support work experience required.
