Job summary

UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, NC seeks a per diem Pharmacy Technician to collect accurate medication histories for admitted patients and facilitate reconciliation. You will interact with patients, families, and healthcare staff, following standard work protocols while rotating weekends on the day shift.

The role requires NC technician registration; completion of a technician training program is preferred, with possible PharmD internship enrollment.

Qualifications

• Completion of an academic pharmacy technician training program preferred.
• Current enrollment in PharmD program if working as a registered pharmacy intern with NC Board of Pharmacy.
• Registration as a technician with the NC Board of Pharmacy unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
• CPhT from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA unless enrolled in a PharmD program; if enrolled, waived for duration of PharmD program.
• Prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assembles medication histories by consulting patients, family members, outside pharmacies, and medical records and documents findings.
• Communicates patient feedback and requests to the post-acute service team.
• Tracks patient status and coordinates transitions to post-acute care with the clinical team and other staff.
