Weston Solutions is searching for a part-time or temporary (450+ hours/year) Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) to support our highly successful US EPA START program. The selected candidate will work on unique assignments for our strategic client. Our multidisciplinary team participates in a variety of projects under the EPA Removal and pre-Remedial programs, including hazardous waste site investigations, environmental assessments, removal actions, preparedness and prevention planning, emergency response to chemical and oil spills, and other technical assignments.

Occasional overnight travel may be required mainly throughout New England.

Location: Billerica, MA preferred, but will consider candidates living in the Mid-Atlantic or New England areas.

Responsibilities:
  1. Support field teams with Industrial Hygiene technical needs
  2. Interact extensively with our client contact
  3. Ensure the contractor's compliance with OSHA requirements, including but not limited to, 29 CFR 1910.120, NIOSH, ACGIH, and professional standards of IH practice
  4. Develop integrated TWA air sampling procedures, IH/safety training, site/program specific safety/IH planning documents (includes review and approval of emergency response procedures)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • BA/BS degree in Industrial Hygiene (or allied field), Industrial Health and Safety, or Environmental Engineering/Science
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) with a minimum of five (5) years Industrial Hygiene experience, including emergency and/or rapid response support
  • Basic hazardous materials training for response personnel at a minimum consisting of EPA Environmental Response Team Hazardous Materials Incident Response Operations (165.5) training course or equivalent
  • Experience providing health and safety training, preparing and reviewing health and safety plans, conducting safety audits, and managing projects
  • Experience providing safety oversight and audits on field projects, including releases of hazardous substances and oil; emergency, disaster, and WMD response; and removal and remedial projects
  • Demonstrable experience in biosafety, radioactive materials management, field sampling and analysis, decontamination and mitigation methods, emergency preparedness, radiation dose assessment and management, and/or toxicology
  • Expertise and experience with OSHA, NIOSH, and ACGIH regulations and sampling techniques
  • This position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to pass applicable background checks and regular drug screenings

Compensation will vary based on experience, education, skill level, and other factors.

Salary Range: $63,550 - $83,845 - $103,833
