Requirements of the Certified Home Health Aide

MUST HAVE A VALID NEW JERSEY HOME HEALTH AIDE LICENSE!

• High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Caregiver/Certified Home Health Aide in healthcare (homes or facilities).
• NJ Licensed as Certified Home Health Aide.
• Must be fully COVID vaccinated & booster.
• 2-step PPD.
• Physical within the last 12 months.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job.
• Valid driver’s license and insured automobile.

Responsibilities of the Certified Home Health Aide

Certified Home Health Aides assist patients by taking vital signs, administering medications under a nurse's direction, and recording/reporting medical data. They help with daily functions such as dressing, bathing, and organizing transportation for appointments. They may work in facilities or provide hourly or live-in care.

Other duties include

• Light housekeeping (dusting, mopping, laundry, etc.)
• Meal preparation and cooking
• Grocery shopping
• Reporting health status to nurses
• Teaching self-care skills to patients

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary: $17-20/hour (depending on experience and case)
• Extra pay on weekends
