Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Histotechnician or Histotechnologist to join our surgical pathology grossing and frozen section team. You will perform specialized histological techniques and assist with intraoperative consultations to deliver timely, accurate information that guides surgical decisions.

Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent and ASCP HT/HTL certification. This full-time role includes a $10,000 new-hire sign-on bonus and a robust benefits package

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• ASCP HT/HTL certification required.

Responsibilities

• To perform a variety of specialized, complex histological techniques (immunohistochemical/IHC, pathology molecular, renal).
• To assist supervisor and/or team leads with evaluating new instrumentation and/or methods, reagents, quality control, troubleshooting, equipment maintenance and Vantage data management.
• To assist team lead with frozen section lab and special procedures (IHC, renal).
