Job summary

BoulderCentre for Orthopedics and Spine is seeking a Certified Hand Therapist (OT) to join our Hand & Physical Therapy team. You’ll evaluate patients, create individualized OT plans, and deliver rehabilitative care for orthopedic and upper-extremity conditions.

Responsibilities include supervising assistants, educating patients and families, fabricating splints, and documenting progress in the EMR. Colorado licensure and CHT certification required; travel between Boulder and nearby locations as

  • Master’s or Doctorate in OT from an accredited program.
  • Clinical internship completed.
  • 3–5 years of occupational therapy experience preferred.
  • Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) certification required.
  • Current Colorado Occupational Therapist license preferred.

  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans to maximize outcomes.

  • Fabricate custom low-temperature thermoplastic splints and educate patients on proper wear and care.
  • Provide wound care and management as appropriate.
  • Supervise and collaborate with COTAs, students, and support staff.
  • Communicate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient progress.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation within the EMR system.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, infection control protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.
  • Support a positive team environment and contribute to organizational success.

Are you a passionate Occupational Therapist with certification in hand therapy? We are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Certified Hand Therapist (OT) to join our dynamic rehabilitation team. In this role, you will work closely with physicians, therapists, and patients to deliver exceptional care that restores function, improves mobility, and helps patients return to the activities they love.

Department: Hand & Physical Therapy

Reports to: Physical Therapy Director

Schedule/Type: Full-Time, Salaried

Travel Requirement: Travel between Broomfield and Boulder locations

Wage: $85,280–$116,480 annually (commensurate with experience)

Incentives: Productivity-based bonuses

What You’ll Do

As a Certified Hand Therapist (OT), you will:

  • Evaluate patients and develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans
  • Provide high-quality rehabilitative care for orthopedic and upper extremity conditions

  • Develop home exercise programs and educate patients and families on treatment goals

  • Provide wound care and management as appropriate
  • Supervise and collaborate with Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), students, and support staff
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient progress
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation within the EMR system
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, infection control protocols, and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities
  • Support a positive team environment and contribute to organizational success
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience
  • Master’s or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Successful completion of clinical internship
  • 3–5 years of occupational therapy experience preferred
  • Orthopedic and sports medicine experience strongly preferred
  • Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) certification required
Licensure & Certifications
  • Current Colorado Occupational Therapist license required
  • Current CPR certification required
Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong knowledge of biomechanics, anatomy, rehabilitation techniques, and disease processes
  • Experience with custom splint fabrication and upper extremity rehabilitation
  • Excellent manual therapy and patient evaluation skills
  • Ability to educate and motivate patients throughout the rehabilitation process
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • A compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
  • Ability to adapt treatment plans based on patient progress and clinical findings
Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position works primarily in a patient therapy gym within a busy medical practice environment. The role requires frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and assisting patients throughout the day. Candidates must be able to safely support patient mobility and occasionally lift or move objects over 50 pounds.
