Position Overview

The Physical Therapist Clinician II is responsible for delivering physical therapy care to assigned patient populations and documenting care in the hospital medical record. The therapist acts as a consultant to various patient groups and provides instruction to support staff, students, and family members. Therapists may rotate through different clinical service areas.

Requirements
  • Licensure: Licensed (or eligible) by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Physical Therapist. Current license required for continued employment.
  • Certifications: Current CPR certification if required by clinic or practice area.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of work experience as a Physical Therapist. PREFERRED: N/A.
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Physical Therapy. PREFERRED: Masters or Doctoral Degree.
Responsibilities
  • Patient evaluation and intervention planning, discharge planning.
  • Ordering equipment, participating in rounds and discharge conferences.
  • Scheduling and billing patients.
  • Supervisory duties of support staff and students (if applicable).
Additional Requirements
  • Share weekend and holiday schedule expectations or have flexible hours (8 AM to 7 PM).
  • Serve diverse age groups: Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics.
Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Physical: Lift 50-100 lbs, frequent bending, walking, climbing, reaching, repetitive motions.
  • Mental/Sensory: Strong recall, reasoning, problem-solving, hearing, clear speech, legible writing, reading, logical thinking.
Environmental and Emotional Aspects
  • Fast-paced environment, steady pace, handle multiple priorities, customer interactions, noisy environment, adaptability to change.
