Job summary

The Southeastern Indiana YMCA seeks a Gymnastics/Ninja Instructor to lead engaging, safe classes and develop age-appropriate curriculum aligned with YMCA values. You will foster character development and help youth learn through movement.

Under the Director of Youth Services, you will communicate with parents, support program growth, and participate in marketing and community inquiries. This role offers a collaborative team environment and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Group Exercise or Fitness related certification required
• 1 month of Program specific experience required
• Adult & Pediatric CPR/AED/First Aid certifications, obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained throughout employment

Responsibilities

• Leads energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes, as directed by the supervisor, to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals
• Develop, implement, and supervise curriculum for a program which promotes the social, emotional, intellectual, and physical growth of participants
• Effectively communicate with parents on participant’s skills and character. Maintains working knowledge of program and trends to provide effective information and support to members
• Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information
• Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner
• Assist in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of and participation in program
• Other Duties: Assigned as necessary by the Director of Youth Services and CEO.

How You’ll Make An Impact

Under the direction of the Director of Youth Services, the Instructor creates and implements age-appropriate skill trainings for participants that meet the YMCA mission and standards as well as character development values of Caring, Respect, Honesty, and Responsibility.
