Job summary

Steel and Wire is seeking a Warehouse Associate for a full-time role in our MD warehouse. You will manage incoming and outgoing inventory, operate a forklift, and ensure materials are organized for efficient order fulfillment.

Responsibilities include receiving, pulling, kitting, and transporting inventory, loading/unloading trucks, and maintaining safety. Overtime and full benefits are provided in a fast-paced environment.

Steel and Wire Products, a building products distributor in Rosedale, MD is in search of a warehouse associate to join our growing team. We have been a major distributor of quality products for over 90 years. This position is located in our fast-paced, high-volume warehouse at our corporate headquarters.

What will you do in this role?

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the incoming and outgoing inventory through receiving, pulling, issuing, kitting, and transporting materials, while ensuring the inventory remains organized and intact. Daily inventory replenishment and arrangement, loading and unloading of trucks in a safe and timely manner, and order fulfillment according to the customer pick ticket are key responsibilities to this position. The candidate must be forklift certified and have a strong commitment to workplace safety. Additionally, the ability to efficiently pull inventory, wrap an order and stage it for the next day’s delivery is essential.

Job Duties are as follows but limited to:

• Responsible for managing the incoming and outgoing inventory through receiving, pulling, and issuing, kitting, transporting materials while ensuring that the inventory remains organized.
• Perform the unloading of trucks in a safe and timely manner
• Daily inventory and stock replenishment and arrangement – Report any discrepancies
• Order fulfillment according to a customer’s pick ticket – pulling of inventory, wrapping of an order, and staging for the next day’s delivery
• Retrieve orders for customer pick ups
• Keep a clean and safe work environment and optimize space utilization
• Communicate and cooperate with supervisors, co-workers, and customers
• Commitment to workplace safety
• Forklift experience necessary / Must have current forklift certification
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job
