We’re hiring a Financial Planner (Service Advisor) on behalf of our client—a growing hybrid retirement-focused wealth management firm in Central Texas.
If you love building long-term relationships with retirees, want strong internal support, and prefer a small, family-style team with big growth plans, this might be your next home.
Role Snapshot
- Step into warm, closed relationships — no cold calling
- Own the long-term client relationship after the rainmaker closes the business
- Collaborate with a paraplanner, new business, and service team so you can focus on meetings and advice
- Guide pre-retirees and retirees (typically $1M–$5M+ portfolios) through retirement income and distribution strategies
- Help refine plans using firm models and tools while keeping conversations simple and human
What You’ll Be Doing
- Join post-close meetings and co-create retirement plans with the closing advisor
- Lead ongoing review meetings, answer client questions, and provide clear, empathetic guidance
- Partner with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding, transfers, and account maintenance
- Nurture relationships so referrals and retention stay strong as the firm grows
- Contribute ideas as the firm expands across Central Texas
- Throwing the ball here and there for the office dog, Bella!
What You Bring
- Experience as a Financial Advisor, Service Advisor, or Financial Planner working directly with clients
- Passion for working with pre-retirees and retirees on income and distribution planning
- Required licensing: Series 65 or Series 7 + 63, plus life & health insurance
- Comfortable with planning software and learning new tools
- High emotional intelligence and the ability to handle direct, candid feedback
- Polished, professional presence with high energy
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
- No need to prospect or close new business, you inherit relationships that are already closed into clients.
- Small, tight-knit team that truly cares about you as a person
- Strong benefits: 401(k) with safe harbor match, unlimited PTO (if not abused), health/dental/vision with 75% of family premiums covered
- Half-day Fridays and the office closed from Christmas Eve through New Year’s
- Clear growth path into a closing advisor role or leadership as the firm adds offices in Central Texas
