Role Description

The Certified Field Inspector role at Ohio Basement Authority is a full-time, on-site position based in Columbus, OH. The Certified Field Inspector will conduct thorough inspections of residential properties to identify foundation, crawl space, basement, and water management issues. Responsibilities include producing detailed reports, educating homeowners about potential solutions, preparing proposals, and ensuring excellent customer service throughout the inspection process. The position requires maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with the team and customers to manage expectations and ensure satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Experience in conducting inspections and preparing detailed reports
• Strong communication and customer service skills, including the ability to educate homeowners on recommended solutions
• Organizational skills for managing documentation and reporting
• Basic technical knowledge of structural, foundation, and water management systems is a plus
• Basic problem-solving and ability to develop work scopes and proposals
• Proficiency with digital tools for report creation and communication
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel locally as needed
• Experience in construction, home repair, or related fields is an advantage
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training/certifications preferred but not required
