Job summary

Petco is seeking a Certified Dog Trainer to advance the bond between pet parents and their dogs through world-class training services. You will conduct one-on-one sessions, group classes, and provide expert guidance on training goals, nutrition, and overall pet wellbeing.

You will participate in the Dog Trainer Instructor Program and collaborate with grooming and veterinary teams to deliver holistic health solutions across the Pet Care Center.

Qualifications

• Passion for animal care and welfare.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle dogs of all sizes safely.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Willingness to work weekends/evenings/holidays.
• Physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Familiarity with computer systems to manage training records.

Responsibilities

• Attend and pass Petco's 6-week Dog Trainer Instructor Program.
• Recommend and sell dog training classes, training and supplies.
• Keep accurate records of training sessions and progress.
• Work cross-functionally with grooming and veterinary teams.
• Provide 360-degree solutions for guests and engage in merchandise/services selection.
• Ensure merchandise is stocked, priced, and displayed; process sales as needed.
