Petco Animal Supplies, Inc. seeks a passionate Dog Trainer to strengthen the bond between pet parents and their dogs. You will deliver one-on-one sessions, group classes, and guidance on basic training, environmental management, and tailored plans to meet goals.

You’ll engage with guests to provide holistic solutions, recommend training and related supplies, and collaborate with grooming and veterinary teams to support pet health and wellness.

Qualifications

• Passion for animal care and welfare.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to handle dogs of all sizes, ages, and breeds safely.
• Strong organizational skills and multitasking.
• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Familiarity with computer systems to manage training records.

Responsibilities

• Attend and pass Petco’s 6-week Dog Trainer Instructor Program.
• Complete all Workday Learning modules and DTIP materials.
• Recommend and sell appropriate dog training classes, training, and supplies.
• Keep accurate records of training sessions, progress, and feedback.
• Work cross-functionally with grooming and veterinary teams for holistic care.
• Provide 360-degree solutions for Petco guests, including product recommendations.
