Job summary

Petco is seeking a Certified Dog Trainer to enhance the bond between pet parents and their dogs, delivering one-on-one sessions and group classes while guiding environmental management and personalized training plans.

The role involves advising on nutrition, services, and supplies, with a focus on positive reinforcement and exceptional guest service in our Pet Care Center. Start rate is $14.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Passion for animal care, training, and welfare with a genuine interest in improving pets' lives.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with pet parents and provide clear instructions.
• Demonstrated ability to work safely with dogs of all sizes and breeds.

Responsibilities

• Attend and pass Petco’s 6-week Dog Trainer Instructor Program.
• Recommend and sell appropriate dog training classes, training, and supplies.
• Maintain training records and track progress for pet parents.
• Collaborate with grooming and veterinary teams to provide holistic health solutions.
• Provide 360-degree solutions and engage guests with product recommendations.
