Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) is hiring a full-time Certified Disabilities Aide at the East Shady Oaks location to assist adults with developmental disabilities in a residential setting. The position involves supporting daily living activities and escorting clients to community outings and appointments.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, background check clearance, and the ability to meet the physical demands of the job.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check clearance required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Able to meet extensive physical requirement of the position.
• Demonstrated ability to read and write in English to complete documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing for residency state.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living.
• Drive/escort clients to outings, appointments, and community activities.
• Safely complete client transfers per facility protocol.
• Perform various housekeeping tasks.
• Implement client habilitation plans.
• Demonstrate professional, respectful conduct with clients, families and staff.
