Job summary

SAK Management is seeking a Certified Dietary Manager to assist the Dietitian and lead the dietary department in a long-term care facility. You will help plan, organize, and direct daily nutritional services in compliance with state and federal standards.

The role requires supervisory experience, knowledge of diet therapy and cost control, and registration as a Food Service Director in the state. Strong collaboration with Nursing and other departments is essential.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be a Certified Dietary Manager (required).
• Be a graduate of an accredited course in dietetic training.
• Must have, as a minimum, 1 year experience in a supervisory capacity.
• Must have training in cost control, food management, diet therapy, etc.
• Must be registered as a Food Service Director in this state.
• Must be knowledgeable of dietary practices and applicable regulations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates dietary services and activities with other related departments (i.e., Nursing, Housekeeping, Social Services, etc.).
• Assists the dietary staff in developing department policies, procedures, equipment, supplies, etc.
• Assist in developing preliminary and comprehensive assessments of residents' dietary needs.
• Develop a written dietary plan of care identifying problems/needs and goals.
• Schedule care plans and assessments for presentation at committee meetings.
• Ensure care plans are used in planning daily dietary services for residents.
• Identify any equipment or utensils a resident may need and ensure plans reflect them.
• Review and revise care plans and assessments at least quarterly.
• Provide substitute foods of similar nutritive value to residents who refuse foods served.
• Competent in use and maintenance of kitchen equipment listed (e.g., Blender, Steam Table, etc.).
• Inspect storage rooms and supply closets for upkeep and control.
• Process diet changes from nursing services.
• Assist in identifying/dietary functions related to exposure to blood/body fluids.
