Job summary

Carondelet St. Marys Hospital in Tucson, AZ is hiring a Dialysis Technician to provide direct patient care in the Dialysis Department. Under RN supervision you will set up and monitor dialysis treatments, collect samples, and help ensure water treatment quality and safety.

Required are a High School Diploma or GED, BLS, and CCHT certification. Prior dialysis experience is preferred. The role emphasizes teamwork, compliance, and continuous improvement in patient care standards.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association).
  • Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT).

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of an RN, perform dialysis treatments including setups and dismantling of equipment.
  • Monitor patients during treatment and termination of treatments.
  • Collect routine water samples and send for water content and microorganism analysis.
  • Maintain water treatment log and report discrepancies accordingly.
  • Complete work in accordance to specific environment standards with minimal supervision.
  • Follow established policy and procedures as directed.
  • Perform all job duties in a safe manner with respect to safety and to self and others.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies and report malfunctions to manager.
  • Accurately collect/identify, and document data in a timely manner.
  • Assist with other patient care related activities.
  • Level 2 – Proficient: Participate in training new staff; Troubleshoot errors and perform quality assurance checks.
  • Level 3 – Subject Matter Expert: Participate in quality improvement measures and monitoring within the department; Provide information to the Manager/Director as requested.

Job Summary

Accountable for performing and providing quality customer service within the Dialysis Department. Responsible for maintaining effective communication skills. Participates in monitoring and maintaining resources in Dialysis Department. Under the general supervision of nursing, performs direct patient care.

Qualifications
  • Minimum Requirements
    • Education: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D.).
    • Licensure/Certifications:
      • Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association.
      • Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT)
  • Preferred Requirements
    • Experience: Six months to one year of Dialysis experience
