Job summary

Altus Emergency in Abilene, TX is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technician (Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) to perform ultrasound exams, capture diagnostic images, and provide preliminary findings to the medical team. The ideal candidate holds ARDMS certification, a formal DMS program degree, and at least two years of experience; strong patient communication and adherence to safety policies are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or Cardiovascular Technology Program (CAAHEP-accredited) is required.
• At least 2 years of ultrasound/sonography experience.
• ARDMS certification and current BLS certification are required.

Responsibilities

• Explain ultrasound procedures to patients and answer questions.
• Maintain ultrasound equipment and the procedure areas; perform QA and cleaning.
• Present images and preliminary findings to physicians and the health care team.
• Maintain patient records and notes related to the ultrasound procedure.
• Adhere to safety, infection control, OSHA, and departmental policies.
