Job summary

Custer County Sheriff's Office in Custer, SD is currently accepting applications for full-time Certified Deputy Sheriffs. The starting wage is $27.59 per hour for current South Dakota certified officers, plus a $1.00 per hour shift differential for hours worked between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM.

Qualifications

• SD POST Certification required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Background investigation successful completion required.
• Must be 21 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Enforce local and state laws.
• Prevent and suppress crime and accidents.
• Serve legal processes and promote public safety.
• Engage in community policing and proactive initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
