Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid crane operator certification (NCCCO or equivalent OSHA-recognized credential).
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proven crane operation experience in construction or industrial settings.
• Strong knowledge of rigging practices and signaling standards.
• Ability to read and interpret load charts and lift plans.
• Good physical condition and coordination.

Responsibilities

• Operate cranes (mobile, tower, overhead, or crawler) to lift and move materials safely.
• Conduct pre-operational inspections of equipment and safety devices.
• Interpret load charts and ensure lifts stay within crane capacity limits.
• Communicate with riggers and signal persons using standard signals or radios.
• Ensure proper rigging, load stability, and secure attachment before lifting.
• Monitor weather and site conditions and maintain safe distances from power lines.
• Follow lift plans and critical lift procedures when required.
• Stop operations immediately if conditions are unsafe.
• Perform basic maintenance and report defects; maintain operation logs.
