Job summary

DeKalb County Government seeks a skilled court reporter to record verbatim proceedings and produce certified transcripts. You will prepare and edit transcripts, manage trial exhibits, and ensure confidentiality of all records.

Experience with stenography and voice-to-text tools is essential for timely, accurate reporting. The role requires an Associate Degree and a minimum of three years’ court reporting experience, with certification as an RPR/CCR and sworn Deputy Clerk affirmation preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field required.
• Three years of court reporting experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Take verbatim recordings of formal court proceedings using stenography and voice-to-text equipment.
• Prepare certified written transcripts, proofread, edit, print, and bind documents for filing.
• Maintain confidentiality and manage exhibits and billing records as required.
• Back up and archive electronic transcripts and respond to transcript requests within deadlines.
