Job summary

WellSpan Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists by filling prescriptions, labeling medications, and ensuring accurate dispensing to patients. The role includes delivering medications, assisting with IV preparation, and data entry within pharmacy computer systems.

Minimum education includes a High School Diploma or GED, plus completion of a Pharmacy Technician Program. Certification such as CPhT and state registration upon hire are required or expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Pharmacy Technician Program completed; certification/licensure as Pharmacy Technician preferred.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician and Registered Pharmacy Technician required or obtained Upon Hire.

Fills prescriptions, routine orders for medications and prepackaged pharmaceuticals and performs other related duties.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Assists pharmacists as directed including filling orders and preparing labels.
• Assists patient, taking prescription, necessary information, etc. Operates cash register. Delivers medications as needed.
• Submits and receives orders from suppliers.
• Enters and/or retrieves data from established computer files using knowledge of various computer software applications.
• Assists with I.V. preparation and delivery.
• Trains other employees in day to day procedures.
• Participates in the performance evaluation process for Technician I and Driver.
• Position shares responsibility with other team members for daily delivery of patient medications to a Script Center in Mt. Gretna, PA. (Applies only to staff working at Good Samaritan Pharmacy location only; Department 43514).

• Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
• Logs all drugs delivered to pharmacy.

Minimum Education

• High School Diploma or GED Required

Work Experience

• Less than 1 year Pharmacy experience. Required
• 1 year Pharmacy experience. Preferred

• Certified Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire Required and
• Registered Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire Required
