Job summary

SummitStone Health Partners seeks a Coding Specialist-Certified (or progressing toward credentialing) to review records, abstract clinical data, and confirm correct ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes under supervision. The role supports billing accuracy and serves as quality control for clinical staff.

Compensation includes competitive hourly wages with 40-hour weeks, Mon-Fri, in Larimer County, CO. Certification within one year is required; familiarity with EPIC is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least one year in healthcare revenue cycle, billing, or coding.
• Experience using an EMR system required.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify diagnosis, procedures, and treatment codes are correct.
• Check modifiers, units, and place of service for billing accuracy.
• Ensure proper code sequencing per regulations and payer rules.
• Follow behavioral health or medical coding guidelines as appropriate.
• Clarify documentation with staff to resolve coding concerns.
• Respond to provider inquiries about coding of services.
• Stay updated with relevant coding manuals and changes.
