Job summary

Jefferson City Medical Group is seeking a Full-time Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to support providers and clinics. You will perform essential physician coding, organize workflow, and ensure accurate billing information in collaboration with care teams.

The role requires CPC/CCA/CEMC certification options, at least two years of physician coding experience, knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding, and strong terminology skills.

Qualifications

• Must have strong medical terminology knowledge.
• Experience with ICD-10 and CPT coding.
• Ability to engage in ongoing education and self-improvement.
• Proficient computer skills and software literacy.

• Organizes workflow and communication with the clinics and providers for accurate billing information.
• Effectively communicates within the organization and with the public consistent with the clinic philosophy, vision and mission.
• Appropriately uses facility communication, information systems and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Associate degree preferred

Experience

• Minimum two years in a Physician Coding environment

Certification/License

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
• Certified Coding Associate (CCA)
• Certified Evaluation and Management Coder (CEMC) for E&M Specialties and Family Medicine

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Competency in medical terminology as demonstrated by either formal training or experience
• Must be able to assess self-learning needs and participate in educational programs as appropriate
