Job summary

Jefferson City Medical Group is seeking a full-time Medical Coder to support accurate billing for providers and ancillary services. You will coordinate workflow with clinics and providers and communicate clearly within the organization and with the public to uphold the clinic's mission.

Required: high school diploma or GED and at least two years in a physician coding environment; certifications CPC, CCA, or CEMC are a plus. The position offers strong benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Specific Competencies:

• Performs all functions essential in the billing of providers and ancillary services.
• Organizes workflow and communication with the clinics and providers for accurate billing information.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• High school diploma or GED

Experience:

• Minimum two years in a Physician Coding environment

Certification/License:

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
• Certified Coding Associate (CCA)
• Certified Evaluation and Management Coder (CEMC) for E&M Specialties and Family Medicine

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Competency in medical terminology as demonstrated by either formal training or experience
• Must be able to assess self-learning needs and participate in educational programs as appropriate
• Knowledge and experience with ICD-10 and CPT coding
