Job summary

Umpqua Health in Oregon is seeking a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) to support providers in coordinating primary care, behavioral health, and care management services. This FT, non-exempt position supports clinical operations, manages patient flow, documents health information in the EMR, and assists with exams,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current certification in CCMA, NCMA, CMA, or RMA.
• BLS certification required or obtainable within 3 months of hire.
• 1–2 years of relevant clinical or patient care experience.
• Immunizations current; COVID-19 vaccination preferred or exemption on file.
• Must not be suspended or debarred from federal programs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize patient visits with required documentation ready for provider review.
• Collect and document vital signs, allergies, medications, and chief complaints.
• Use preventive screening protocols to identify care gaps and communicate findings to providers.
• Recognize and report abnormal findings or changes in patient condition.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments during the rooming process.
• Maintain exam and procedure rooms; stock supplies and ensure clean, organized environments.
• Document patient care activities in the EMR following organizational standards.
• Assist with discharge processes, labs, referrals, and follow-up care coordination.
• Apply splints, dressings, administer medications, and complete vaccinations within scope.
• Follow HIPAA, infection control, and safety standards in daily practice.
• Deliver age-appropriate care and collaborate effectively with the care team.
