CHS Career Site seeks a Certified Child Life Specialist for Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN. This part-time, day-shift role (Mon-Fri 8:00am-4:30pm; weekends may be required) supports pediatric patients and families in a hospital setting.

The Behavioral Specialist assesses needs, develops care plans, and collaborates with the care team to improve outcomes and well-being. A Bachelor's in Behavioral Health or related field plus 1–2 years of experience is required.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's Degree in Behavioral Health or related field required.
• 1-2 years of experience in a behavioral health or clinical setting required.

Aufgaben

• Assesses patients' emotional, psychological, and behavioral needs and develops individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Provides therapeutic interventions, such as counseling, behavioral therapy, or play therapy where applicable for children, to aid patients in managing emotional and behavioral difficulties.
• Supports patients in coping with hospitalization, treatment plans, and procedures by offering emotional and psychological support.
• Collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals for a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
• Facilitates group sessions, workshops, or educational programs to improve coping mechanisms and mental health.
• Documents patient interactions and maintains confidential records in accordance with hospital policies.
