Job summary

Community Medical Center in Missoula, MT is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate, sterilize and distribute patient care equipment in the hospital. You will report to the Director of Surgery Services and work within Lifepoint Health's network, following AAMI, AORN, TJC, and OSHA guidelines while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualified candidates will have a High School diploma, CSR certification within 6 months, and BLS within 30 days.

  • CSR certification within 6 months of hire.
  • BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects, decontaminates, assembles, and sterilizes instruments per AAMI/AORN/TJC/OSHA guidelines.
  • Operates department equipment daily, prioritizing safety per manufacturer instructions.
  • Provides customer service to all departments with patient-centered focus.
  • Processes and documents all sterile supplies using indicators to verify sterility.
  • Monitors antimicrobial and disinfection solutions per manufacturer instructions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Collects, decontaminates, stores and distributes all reusable supplies and patient care equipment in the hospital. Reports to: Director of Surgery Services. FLSA: Non-exempt

How you'll contribute
  • Provides inspection, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of instruments and other patient care equipment in accordance with processing guidelines, AAMI, AORN, TJC, and OSHA requirements.
  • Operates departmental equipment daily according to manufacturer instructions with emphasis on safety.
  • Provides customer service to all departments with a focus on the patient need.
  • Processes and documents all sterile supplies and equipment daily using chemical, biological and mechanical indicators to verify sterility in accordance with manufacturer instructions and hospital policy.
  • Monitors and performs antimicrobial and disinfection solutions testing according to manufacturer instructions and documentation daily.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • License: Central Sterile Technician (CSR) certification within 6 months of hire
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
