Job summary

LCMC Health in New Orleans is seeking a Central Sterilization Technician to support patient safety and surgical effectiveness through meticulous decontamination, sterilization, and reassembly of instruments. You will prepare trays, monitor equipment, and collaborate with OR staff during evenings shift.

The role requires at least 1 year in sterile processing and certification (CRST or equivalent). You will follow regulatory standards and ensure supplies and instruments are ready for procedures

Qualifications

• Minimum: 1 year of experience with Sterile Processing.
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRST) certification or equivalent.
• Certified Instrument Specialist or Certified Endoscope Reprocessor credentials.

Responsibilities

• Prepares instrument trays and supplies for steam and sterilization using appropriate techniques for loading, operating, and unloading.
• Processes instruments and supplies from all areas of nursing service and off-site clinics through cleaning, collecting, packaging, sterilizing and storing properly.
• Monitors the condition of instruments, equipment and reports any needs for repair.
• Assists operating room personnel by offering information as needed regarding equipment and instrument sets.
• Assesses/reassesses appropriate equipment and instruments needs for all departments.
• Ensures all supplies are available for the surgeon, follows-through on replacement/repair of instruments or unfunctional equipment.

Your Everyday
