Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center is seeking a Certified Central Processing Technician for Central Sterile Supply. The role focuses on cleaning, sterilizing, and reassembling instruments in a high-volume setting to support patient safety.

The position is full-time on the night shift (11 PM–7 AM) with rotating weekends and alternating holidays, based at NewYork-Presbyterian Columbia University Medical Center.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• CRCST or CBSPD certification is required.
• CER certification is preferred.
• Prior CSPD experience and experience with scopes are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manually clean and reprocess scopes following established policies.
• Perform cleaning, sterilization and assembly of equipment, supplies and instruments.
• Follow prescribed procedures under supervision to ensure patient safety.
• Work a full-time night shift from 11 PM to 7 AM with rotating weekends and alternating holidays.

Certified Central Processing Technician - Central Sterile Supply - Full-time - Nights

In this role, you will be responsible for manually cleaning and reprocessing scopes in a safe and cost-effective manner using established policies and procedures under the direction of the department supervisor. Executes the cleaning, sterilization and assembly of equipment, supplies and instruments following prescribed procedures and techniques. Utilize your strong work ethic in this high volume department, that is crucial to patient safety.

This is a full time position working 11PM-7AM, including rotating weekends and alternating holidays, at NewYork-Presbyterian Columbia University Medical Center.

Preferred Criteria

• Prior CSPD experience
• Experience with scopes
• CER certification

Required Criteria

• High School Diploma or GED
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management or certified by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)
