Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Columbia University Medical Center seeks a Certified Central Processing Technician to join the Central Sterile Supply team in a full-time evening role. You will clean and reprocess scopes and equipment, following strict safety procedures to support patient care.

The position runs 3PM-11PM with rotating weekends and alternating holidays. Required CRCST certification or CBSPD, and a High School Diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CRCST certification from IAHCSMM or CBSPD required.
• CSPD experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manually clean and reprocess scopes in a safe, cost-effective manner following established policies and procedures.
• Perform cleaning, sterilization and assembly of equipment, supplies and instruments.
• Work in a high-volume department with rotating weekends and holidays; ensure patient safety.

In this role, you will be responsible for manually cleaning and reprocessing scopes in a safe and cost-effective manner using established policies and procedures under the direction of the department supervisor. Executes the cleaning, sterilization and assembly of equipment, supplies and instruments following prescribed procedures and techniques. Utilize your strong work ethic in this high volume department, that is crucial to patient safety. This is a full time position working 3PM-11PM, including rotating weekends and alternating holidays, at NewYork-Presbyterian Columbia University Medical Center.

Preferred Criteria Prior CSPD experience Experience with scopes CER certification Required Criteria High School Diploma or GED Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management or certified by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)

Salary Range: $29.60-$31.39/Hourly
