Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center seeks a Certified Central Processing Technician for the Central Sterile Supply unit. This full-time night-shift role involves cleaning, sterilizing, and reassembling reusable instruments in a high-volume CSPD environment to support patient safety.

Responsibilities include following established procedures under supervision, rotating weekends, and working at the Columbia University Medical Center location.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required and CRCST/CSSD certification recognized.
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from IAHCSMM or CBSPD preferred.
• Experience in central sterile processing is valued.

Responsibilities

• Manually clean and reprocess scopes following established policies.
• Sterilize, assemble, and prepare instruments and equipment for use.
• Operate in a high-volume CSPD, ensuring patient safety and cost-effectiveness.

Certified Central Processing Technician - Central Sterile Supply - Full-time - Nights

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for manually cleaning and reprocessing scopes in a safe and cost-effective manner using established policies and procedures under the direction of the department supervisor. Executes the cleaning, sterilization and assembly of equipment, supplies and instruments following prescribed procedures and techniques. Utilize your strong work ethic in this high volume department, that is crucial to patient safety.

This is a full time position working 11PM-7AM, including rotating weekends and alternating holidays, at NewYork-Presbyterian Columbia University Medical Center.

Required Criteria

• High School Diploma or GED Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management or certified by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)

Preferred Criteria

• Prior CSPD experience Experience with scopes CER certification

Salary

Salary Range: $29.60-$31.39/Hourly
